Planning a Margaret River trip with children

A family itinerary should reflect the ages of the children, the accommodation you have chosen and the amount of travel that suits your group. A place described as family friendly may still have limits on a particular tour, room or activity.

Check the exact experience

Look at the product rather than the business name alone. Minimum ages, steps, equipment, supervision and session duration can differ between experiences offered by the same operator. Planner excludes documented adults-only products for parties with children and does not treat unknown child suitability as approval for automatic scheduling.

Keep a useful base

Enter your existing accommodation or choose a town while you compare stays. Confirm room occupancy and sleeping arrangements with the property. Kitchens, laundry, pools and playgrounds are specific facilities to verify rather than assumptions attached to a hotel category.

Balance paid plans with open time

One booked activity, a meal and an outdoor pause may give a day enough structure. Free activities still have travel costs and can depend on conditions. Keep food, rest and an alternative for poor weather in the plan rather than treating them as leftover time.

Be specific about access

Describe the access features you need and ask the operator about the exact route or part of the experience. An accessible entrance does not establish access throughout a cave, trail, boat or property. Where the necessary evidence is missing, Planner leaves a gap for confirmation.

Book only after the checks

Review child tickets, cancellation conditions, arrival instructions and what is included. Save the itinerary after booking and mark your confirmed stops in the checklist. This is your own record; amendments and cancellations must still go through the provider.
